Trump calls governors “weak” and Biden talks to black communities, campaign has intensified

The death of George Floyd in Minneapolis at the hands of police officer Derek Cauvin, who acted with three of his peers a week ago, has not only ignited the most violent wave of racial protests in America in recent memory, but, In addition, it has intensified the campaign for the White House, a fierce dispute between Donald Trump, who defends the title, and Joe Biden, who seeks to take it away from him.

In fact, while the president of the United States insists on the use of force and has resources to suppress the incendiary, extremist and vandal protests, where the police action is increasingly violent, Joe Biden, his counterpart for the Democratic Party, the last two days has been devoted to maintaining direct contact with black communities, seeking to discuss with them profound changes to the current state of affairs.

United States President Donald Trump encourages governors to use aggressive tactics against protesters for the #GeorgeFloyd police murder. Trump told state leaders they need to “dominate” violent protesters at a meeting on Monday, saying “most of you are weak,” local media reported.

As Trump tells the governors that they are weak if they don’t use brute force, Biden meets with black leaders to discuss how to make systemic change. The election is less than 6 months. Remember these moments.

“In this moment, the very soul of America is at stake. We must commit, as a nation, to pursue justice with every ounce of our being. We have to finally make real the American promise: That all men and women are not only equal at creation, but throughout their lives”: Biden said.

Floyd died by asphyxia due to neck and back compression

An autopsy commissioned by the family of George Floyd found that Floyd’s death last week was caused by asphyxiation when a Minneapolis police officer kneeled on his neck for several minutes, according to the state news agency Voanews.

George Floyd

Floyd, a 46-year-old African American man, died last week while in handcuffs after being pinned down by a white officer, Derek Chauvin. His death, captured on video, has sparked chaotic demonstrations in dozens of American cities, some of which have turned violent. Chauvin has been charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter in the case.

The family’s autopsy report found Floyd’s neck and back were compressed, leading to asphyxiation.

The family-appointed medical examiner, Michael Baden, said no underlying medical conditions caused or contributed to Floyd’s death.

The report comes after preliminary findings from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner found “no physical findings” to “support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation.” The county report found that Floyd’s death was the combined result of being restrained by police as well as underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in his system.
