A video of more than 6 minutes in length circulating on YouTube shows all the events that preceded the shooting death in the back of the African-American Raychard Brooks, this time at the hands of Atlanta police officers.
As a result of this new act of police violence, Erika Shields, Atlanta Police Chief submitted her resignation on Saturday, just hours after the death of Rayshard Brooks, a 27-year-old African American man who was shot by of police officers from the department Shields heads, a fact that has caused a deep shock in the city and across the country.
The case occurred on Friday night when police went to the parking lot of a Wendy’s chain fast food restaurant, after receiving a complaint that a man was sleeping in a parked vehicle in front of the order delivery window, preventing other cars passing through the area.
The officers performed a breathalyser on Brooks, which tested positive, and they proceeded to arrest him. However, he resisted and began a struggle between the three, but the young man managed to flee with the taser of one of the agents in his hands.
