George Floyd, the name of a tragedy at the hands of Minneapolis police

“I can’t breathe!” Were the last words George Floyd repeated as best he could minutes before he died. This African-American man died minutes after being suffocated by a police officer on a Minneapolis street in broad daylight, it was reported from social networks.

Excessive violence against Floyd is not an isolated event against one of the minorities he represented in the United States, which is why hundreds came out to protest institutional racism, which has been a constant among police officers.

While the Mayor of Minneapolis said, “Being African American in the United States should not be a death sentence,” the police in that city fired tear gas and rubber bullets at unarmed protesters.
